In order to take Fair Trade to the next level in the US market we need a groundswell of consumer demand. Learn how communities are building that demand by holding dynamic events, through educational outreach, and local government participation. National and local strategies will be discussed as well as a discussion about the opportunities and challenges associated with local organizing. Join Billy to learn about exciting local grassroots initiatives spreading across the country to grow the Fair Trade movement. As more and more colleges and universities engage in FT University campaigns, there is a great opportunity to reach out to the towns that these schools are in to spread this effort outside of campus. FT Towns is an excellent way to take this type of organizing to your home town. Getting a campaign going over the summer is a great way to have an impact at home on FT as well as at school.
